NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling's marriage is reportedly in a good place.

The 48-year-old actor said as much in an interview Wednesday on Today. McDermott and Spelling have been working to repair their relationship since he cheated last December, and the star told hosts Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb he and his wife are on the mend.

"We are in a better place than ever," he asserted. "Our love is stronger. We're solid. We're communicating. We're actually having a fully functional relationship."

Lifetime reality series True Tori has documented the couple's efforts to save their marriage. The show debuted in April, and is currently in its second season. The actor declared earlier this month he will not return for a third season if the show is renewed.

"I've learned a lot about myself, our relationship -- it's been a good process," he acknowledged. "But as it goes and continues, it's taking a toll on me. It's not good for me. It's different for everybody. If it works for T, that's great, but I'm finding I'm having a hard time with it."
