NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- An 85-foot-tall, 13-ton Norway Spruce from Hemlock Township, Pennsylvania, has been selected to light up Rockefeller Center for the Christmas season.

The tree is coming from the property of a couple of Christmas enthusiast who admitted they play Christmas music from August or September through the holiday.

"I am a big Christmas elf. My whole family are Christmas elves," said Rachel Drosdick-Sigafoos, 29, a college diving coach, who owns the land where the tree was found with her husband Dan.

The tree is currently on its way to Manhattan. It will be decorated with more than 45,000 LED lights and a 9 1/2-foot-wide Swarovski star.

The tree will be lit in a ceremony in Rockefeller Center on Dec. 3 and will remain on display until 8 p.m. on Jan. 7.

After it is removed, it will be returned to its home state where the wood will be used to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.
