NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Former heavyweight champion Myke Tyson disclosed he was sexually abused as a child during a radio interview on Wednesday.

Tyson, 48, was discussing his upbringing during a visit to "Opie Radio" on SiriusXM when he revealed that an old man abducted him and molested him when he was 7 years old.

"[The man] bullied me, sexually abused me and stuff ... snatched me off the street. I was a little kid. Never seen him again," he said

Tyson went on to say he never reported the incident to the police or discussed it publicly because "it's nobody's business to know."

"That's why a bunch of entertainers have egos, it buffers their flaws, their demons, which is a demon itself," he said. "But it buffers the one you are afraid of. Everybody else if afraid of your ego, but you're afraid of the demon you're afraid of." Asked if he was changed by the experience, the retired professional boxer said he's not really sure.
