LONDRES, England, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Emma Watson received many praises for the passionate speech she made while launching the HeForShe campaign at the U.N. headquarters in New York last month, but the Harry Potter star admits that delivering it wasn't as easy as it looked.

"It wasn't an easy thing for me to do," Watson said in the Feminism issue of Elle UK. "It felt like: 'Am I going to have lunch with these people, or am I going to be eaten? Am I the lunch?'"

The 24-year-old actress made headlines all over the world for her progressive comments on feminism and gender equality during her speech. When asked to share more of her thoughts on the subject, Watson told the magazine "Feminism is not here to dictate to you."

"It's not prescriptive, it's not dogmatic," she explained. "All we are here to do is give you a choice. It you want to run for President, you can. It you don't that's wonderful, too."

Watson went on to say she was "lucky" for growing up in a house where she and her mother "spoke as loudly as my brothers" and disclosed she was "raised to believe that [her] opinion at the dinner table was valuable."

Watson was named goodwill ambassador for U.N. women in August.
