LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Kristen Stewart is taking time off from acting to "make some [stuff] with her hands."

The 24-year-old actress revealed in an interview with USA Today that having wrapped filming on Drake Doremus's futuristic thriller Equals left her emotionally drained and ready to take a break.

"I'm taking some time off because I've been working for two years. I'm an actor and that's my art form, and because I started that so young, I've always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create," she said.

"I'm going to take so much time off. I'm going to buy a live-work space in downtown LA and I'm going to make some [stuff] with my hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago. I'm making a short film. I'm making a bunch of [stuff]. I don't know how I'll put it out. But I'm not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time."

Stewart -- who achieved superstardom by playing the lead character in the Twilight saga films, but has notoriously avoided the perks and demands of fame -- says that ultimately, she "really [loves] work."

"I love hard work," she said. "I'm somewhat OK with the isolation [that comes with being a celebrity]. At times I realize, that's so not normal. It's weird but it gives me the opportunity to do what I love."

"I do wish it was a bit more normal. Plans are just difficult. You have to be ready to change them any moment. If you walk into a place and there are weirdoes there, you leave," she shared, later adding that time has helped her get over some of her issues with fame.

"I've gotten better about that," she admits. "Whatever. If everyone is staring at me, that's fine."

While Stewart goes on break you can still see her on the big screen when her upcoming films Still Alice, Anesthesia, Equals, American Ultra and The Big Shoe hit theaters in 2015.
