Trisha Yearwood, Santana among others to perform anthem at World Series

The Series will kick off Tuesday night in Kansas City with country star Trisha Yearwood singing the national anthem for Game 1.

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Trisha Yearwood and Santana will be two of the artists to perform the national anthem during the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals.

The Series will kick off Tuesday night in Kansas City with country star Trisha Yearwood singing the national anthem for Game 1.

American Idol contestant Phillip Phillips will sing the anthem in San Francisco for Game 2 on Wednesday.

Moving back to a country theme, the quartet Little Big Town will sing the anthem back in Kansas City for Game 3.

Carlos Santana and his son Salvador are expected to give a new guitar spin on "The Star Spangled Banner" for Game 4.

These were the only anthem singers announced as the Series will be a minimum of four games and a maximum of seven.

The games will broadcast on Fox at 8 p.m. EDT.
