Kate Middleton resumes royal duties after pregnancy announcement

The duchess has been forced to skip several royal engagements because she's suffering from severe morning sickness as a a side effect of her second pregnancy.

LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The duchess of Cambridge returned to her royal duties this week for the first time since news of her pregnancy broke in early September.

Kate Middleton has been forced to skip several royal engagements because she's suffering from severe morning sickness as a a side effect of her second pregnancy. But on Tuesday, Middleton resumed her royal duties and joined Prince William to greet the president of the Republic of Singapore Tony Tan and his wife at London's Royal Garden Hotel.

Middleton was photographed wearing an Alexander McQueen coat, a Jane Taylor Hat and black pumps. Her sighting comes just one day after her father-in-law, Prince Charles, revealed she was due to give birth in April 2015.

The royal couple welcomed their first child, Prince George, on July 22, 2013.
