LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Jason Momoa's intense audition tape for Game of Thrones hit YouTube back in 2012, but made the rounds again on Sunday.

Momoa -- who went on to play Thrones' ferocious Dothraki chieftain, Khal Drogo -- won over HBO execs with his unusual audition. The 35-year-old actor is of Native Hawaiian descent, but performed his own rendition of the haka, a traditional Maori war dance.

Momoa, who only appeared in Game of Thrones' first season, will also play Aquaman in the highly anticipated Batman v Superman film, set to hit theaters in 2016.
