LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Evan Rachel Wood caused quite the controversy on Twitter Wednesday Oct. 15 after writing a series of negative comments when a user shared a photo of the time she appeared in Vanity Fair's 2003 issue.
Wood was photographed with eight other rising starlets for the magazine's "It's Raining Teens" issue over a decade ago. Her complaint came when a user posted a photo that found her posing with the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Raven Symone, Alexis Bledel, Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Amanda Bynes -- all dressed in several shades of pink.
"I was almost in tears after this shoot," Wood commented on user @katiexwright's picture, which was shared with the caption: "Never Foget."
"They tried that dress on me, I wasn't comfortable but they told me there was no time cause everyone else took up too much time with their fittings," she continued. "Then I was given a choice on whether I wanted to wear flats or heels. I chose flats and was immediately handed heels and told they looked better. Then we were --"
Wood continued her rant by stating that she "begged for pants" while at the shoot. She later addressed the "haters" and explained she was not complaining about appearing in Vanity Fair, but just explaining that "things aren't always what they seem."
"Especially in this industry. What may seem glamorous sometimes comes at a price," Wood said. "I only want to encourage other young girls to stay true to who they are. No matter what. Hold on to your self."
The Ides of March actress later said she had returned to Vanity Fair to shoot a cover "and had a much different experience. It was quite lovely."
