Julianne Moore to be honored by The Museum of the Moving Image

"With her unforgettable performances in 'Still Alice' and 'Maps to the Stars,' and her upcoming role in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,' this is Julianne Moore’s year," said the museum's co-chairman Herbert S. Schlosser.

NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Julianne Moore is set to be honored by the Museum of the Moving Image during its 20th annual Salute in January of 2015.

Co-chairmen of the Museum's Board of Trustees Herbert S. Schlosser and Ivan Lustig made the announcement Wednesday, stating that 2014 was "Julianne Moore's year."

"With her unforgettable performances in Still Alice and Maps to the Stars, and her upcoming role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, this is Julianne Moore's year. She is a fearless and versatile performer who has created so many powerful performances in film and television," Schlosser said while making the announcement.

Moore, a four-time Academy Award nominee, won the Best Actress Award at this year's Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Maps to the Stars, a drama about western civilization's obsession with celebrity. She will receive the museum's honor on Jan. 20 at 583 Park in New York.
