EDINBURGH, Scotland, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Author J.K. Rowling was feeling a little impish on Twitter Monday when she decided to tease her rabid fans with a riddle about her next book.

She did not hold out for too long, as 14 hours later she tweeted a mysterious riddle about the new novel, alluding to an expansion of the world of Harry Potter.

She sent it to her fans with her love.

Fans have already started a subreddit parsing the riddle with many theories. They have worked out that it could include the anagram of "New York" or "Newt Scamander," which likely refers to the story of the upcoming film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." Other fans say it is a portent of more stories centering around Harry Potter, possibly glimpsing into the wizard's future.

This isn't the first time she has cooked up a riddle for her stories. Lord Voldemort took his name from the anagram of his birth name, Tom Marvolo Riddle, which when scrambled spells "I am Lord Voldemort." There was also the riddle of the potions in the first book and the riddle of the Sphinx in the fourth.
