Newlyweds Cheryl Hines, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. buy Malibu mansion

The newlyweds paid $4.9 million for the three-bedroom home.

MALIBU, Calif., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Newlyweds Cheryl Hines and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have bought a $4.9 million, nearly 3,000-square-foot home in Malibu, Calif.

The property, marketed as a "Connecticut compound in Malibu" was sold by soap opera composer David Kurtz.

The four-bedroom, three-bath main house contains a wood-paneled great room with vaulted ceilings. The property also contains a guest cottage, a pool house, a refrigerated wine shed and two-story treehouse.

The couple were married in August at the Kennedys' famed family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass.

Hines is known for her TV roles in Suburgatory and HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Kennedy is a lawyer and environmental activist.
