LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Fresh off the launch of her new single, "Chasing The Sun," former Disney star Hilary Duff revealed Monday that she'd be "open" to participating in a Lizzie McGuire reunion.

Duff, 26, played the candid teenager in the Disney channel series from 2001 to 2006, while talking to the Huffington Post about her return to the spotlight she said she'd be willing to reprise her role in a reunion-type show.

"I love it!" Duff said of a possible reunion. "I would be totally open to it. My schedule is a little busy right now. But um ... why not?"

The "So Yesterday" singer announced her return to music in July, seven years after the release of her last album, Dignity.

"I had toured for like five years, so once I was done with my last tour, I was just like, 'I'm done. I need a break. I need to go away. I need to like live.' And I did," Duff said of her hiatus.

But the singer/actress is coming back full force with a new record, a TV Land series and a Trident sponsorship.

"I think hearing about the work that Trident does with Smiles Across America got me inspired because oral health care is really important for kids," she said of her gig in support of Oral Health America's Smiles Across America (SAA). "I have a 2-year-old, and I know how important it is to get them to brush their teeth and how challenging it can be."
