Simone Battle, 'X Factor' finalist, dead of apparent suicide

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Simone Battle, X Factor finalist and singer with G.R.L., was found dead Friday in her Los Angeles home of an apparent suicide, law enforcement officials told TMZ.

The 25-year-old singer was found hanging from a rod in her closet around 8:30 a.m., the celebrity gossip website reported.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has yet to complete an autopsy on Battle, and the cause of death hasn't been officially determined.

Battle made it to the top 17 finalists of the U.S. version of reality singing competition X Factor. She was part of the all-girl singing group, G.R.L.
