LAS VEGAS, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- War Machine pleaded not guilty to the Christy Mack assault in a Las Vegas courtroom Wednesday.

The 32-year-old MMA fighter pleaded not guilty to 32 charges, including two counts of attempted murder, in connection to the brutal attack on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and her friend, Corey Thomas.

War Machine is accused of beating Thomas during an incident at Mack's home on August 8. The fighter reportedly sent Thomas away before he beat Mack as well, leaving her with 20 broken bones, missing teeth and a severely ruptured liver.

War Machine eluded arrest for a week, and proclaimed his innocence in a tweet on August 10. He was apprehended in Los Angeles on August 15, and remains in custody without bail.
