LAS VEGAS, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jake "The Snake" Roberts is in intensive care at a hospital in Las Vegas.

The 59-year-old WWE legend was on a plane to Las Vegas on Wednesday when he suddenly became unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital after landing, where it was discovered he has double pneumonia. The illness filled his lungs with fluid, and doctors also found a mass on his brain.

Roberts was in a coma for nearly 24 hours, and was fading in and out of consciousness as of Thursday evening. Friend and fellow wrestler Sinn Bodhi told TMZ he has been by Roberts' side, and said, "Right now, we're all just staying positive." Bodhi also mentioned Roberts went to a doctor two weeks ago and was told he had the flu.

Roberts had surgery in February to remove a cancerous tumor from his knee.
