LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Susan Sarandon accepted Harry Styles' nomination to complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Sunday and in turn nominated her ex-lover David Bowie.

"Harry Styles I accept your ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in hopes that we will get funds for research and raise awareness for this horrible disease," the 67-year-old actress says in a video posted on her Facebook account. "I'm going to challenge Melissa McCarthy, David Bowie and George Saunders."

The Thelma & Louise star goes on to say that she would be completing the challenge in her garden to simultaneously water her plants in an effort to conserve water during California's drought. The actress also revealed the challenge would be her "shower for the day" and encouraged viewers to find out if golf courses in the state were conserving water.

Similarly, earlier this week Matt Damon refused to use tap water to take the challenge and instead completed it using water from various toilets in his house.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge campaign has raised over $88 million in donations so far, compared to $2.6 million over the same period last year, since former college baseball player Pete Frates first started the viral dare on July 31.
