Alec Baldwin easily catches stray tennis ball at U.S. Open

"I don’t play tennis well," Baldwin told ESPN's Pam Shriver, "but I can catch a slow moving tennis ball."

NEW YORK, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Alec Baldwin decided to skip the Emmys, but only to show off his tennis skills.

The actor was spotted at the U.S. Open match between Maria Sharapova and Maria Kirilenko Tuesday skillfully catching a stray ball from his front-row seat.

"I don't play tennis well," Baldwin told ESPN's Pam Shriver, "but I can catch a slow moving tennis ball."

As Slate pointed out, he "Always. Be. Catching."
