NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Alec Baldwin was happy to talk to the New York Times about the time police came into his apartment building to deal with someone other than him.

"In recent history, when the cops are called to 28 East 10th Street, you could likely guess it's about one particular person," the actor shared Friday referencing his previous run-ins with the law.

Instead, police were looking for Baldwin's neighbor Jaime McKeown. According to reports, the 56-year-old man attacked and dragged a neighbor who had to be taken to the hospital on Tuesday, August 12.

"McKeown struck the victim on her head with a metal frying pan, causing her to fall to the floor, lose consciousness and suffer swelling and substantial pain," read the incident's complaint.

While the 30 Rock star had no involvement in the incident, he explained that his cleaning person and housekeeper witnessed the event from the elevator, just as they reached Baldwin's home on the fifth floor. From what he heard from them, the attack was unprovoked.

The actor shared that rumor has it McKeown attacked the 59-year-old lady because he resented the loud noises coming from her apartment. The actor described McKeown as being "wound very tight" and the woman as being "lovely."

Baldwin also mentioned that while he isn't always fond of cameras, the incident would have been a lot easier to solve if the building had security cameras in the elevator.

"I'm opposed to cameras when -- I mean we're not a military installation here," he said. "But now all of a sudden, I'm thinking maybe we need them."

"I want no uninvited cameras in front of my building," he concluded. "They were outside my building to catch pictures of my pregnant wife. So will the paparazzi be outside my building waiting for him?"

McKeown had no comments about the incident.
