SPRINGDALE, Ark., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are engaged.

The 21-year-old 19 Kids & Counting reality star got engaged to Seewald on Thursday, TLC confirmed.

"We are so blessed to be engaged!" the couple said in a statement. "God has written an amazing story through our courtship, and another chapter has just begun! We are thrilled to see what the future holds -- especially the wedding bells!"

Duggar and Seewald met in church, and celebrated their 11-month anniversary August 9. The couple's relationship has been a formal courtship sanctioned by Duggar's parents, who closely supervise the pair's conduct and conversations. Duggar and Seewald agreed to save holding hands until their engagement and their first kiss until their wedding day.

Duggar and her family currently star on TLC reality series 19 Kids & Counting. The Duggars first came to fame when the series debuted as 17 Kids & Counting in 2008. Jessa is fundamentalist Baptists Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's third-eldest daughter, and has 18 siblings whose ages range from 4 to 26. Older sister Jill married Derick Dillard in June.
