NEW YORK , Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Susan Sarandon's apartment in Manhattan was burglarized over the weekend.

The actress' son Miles, who lives with the Tammy star, was the one to report the robbery to officials after arriving home at 5 a.m. and realizing the place had been ransacked.

Police officials told TMZ that the suspect likely used a ladder to climb into the actress' apartment from the building next door. They arrived at this conclusion after finding no sign of forced entry and noticing a ladder on the neighboring building's roof.

"No arrests have been made yet but the case is under investigation," the NYPD told Us Weekly about the burglary. "No one was home at the time of the crime."

While officials currently believe the robber entered the property from the terrace, they are looking for more clues in surveillance footage. TMZ claims that because there were no cameras on the roof, officials don't know what the suspect looks like.

The robber made off with a laptop, jewelry and a camera. Sarandon has yet to publicly address the incident.
