Kelly Rowland unveils her baby's gender

LOS ANGELES, July 31 (UPI) -- Kelly Rowland is having a boy!

The former Destiny's Child singer accidentally revealed the gender of her future child this week during an interview with Fox411.

"We're very excited," the singer said of her upcoming bundle of joy. "So far, everything has been good. I just feel like the baby is already rotten -- like literally, my Caress family has gotten him all of his little bathing stuff, his toys -- it's just so cool."

After realizing she slipped by saying "him," the singer reportedly sighed and added: "It, it's...aw, [expletive] it! It's a boy. It's a boy!"

Rowland asked her rep to phone her husband and manager Tim Witherspoon after the slip to inform him that she "spilled the beans."

Asked if she received any motherhood advice from her former band-mate Beyonce Knowles, Rowland said that all of her friends have given her advice.

"Whether it's 'Oh my gosh, you look so nice,'" to telling her to make sure she doesn't forget about her husband and to not overdo it with the "mommy conversation," the "Dirty Laundry" singer said she has received plenty of support from her female friends.

Rowland also discussed her baby's "fly" nursery and unveiled that he loves music, especially hip-hop.

"I'm not going to put any expectation on him," she of a possible career in the industry for her little one. "He's his own human being. I'm just happy to be a part of the process."

Roland and Witherspoon tied the knot in May.
