"She's so sweet and such a good actress and, of course, a phenomenal songwriter and musician," Bridges said.

Asked whether he sees an acting future for the singer, Bridges relied: "Oh yeah, I think so."

Swift plays a character named Rosemary in the Phillip Noyce-directed flick. The film marks her second starring role in a motion picture following her part in 2010's Valentine's Day.

"Taylor was so terrific," Bridges said of working with the country music star. "Our scenes we had together -- a lot of the scenes were at the piano, so both being lovers of music, we talked a lot of music and got to pick a little bit between set-ups."

The cinematographic adaptation of author Lois Lowry's novel about a dystopian world also stars Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes, Odeya Rush and Brenton Thwaites. The Giver opens in theaters August 15.
