CANBERRA, Australia, July 22 (UPI) -- The usually bubbly Cameron Diaz seemed to be in a rush to end her interview with Australian radio show Kyle & Jackie O after one of the hosts took a jab at her friend Drew Barrymore.

The 41-year-old actress and Jason Segel called into KIIS 106.5's show Monday to promote their new film Sex Tape. As the foursome discussed the comedy, host Jackie O pointed out that Diaz's daughter in the film, Giselle Eisenberg, reminded her of Barrymore in E.T. "a little bit."

"Aw, yeah!" Diaz said of her Charlie's Angels costar. "She does, now that you mention it. And she's as bright and lively as Drew is, as well. She's a sweet little girl."

Co-host Kyle Sandilands chimed in to say he hoped Eisenberg "missed out on the Drew Barrymore drug years, because those were a great thing to watch, but not so good to be in, I'd imagine." Jackie O jumped in stating: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

"I'm sure, Kyle, you've never been through a drug phase, have you?" Diaz responded. "Or alcoholism or anything like that? Pretty clean... always did it right? Congratulations."

Sandilands followed his faux pas by bringing up that he is "friends with Benji [Madden]" -- Diaz's new boyfriend -- adding that "I don't know if he's been talking, but I've been trying to keep his mouth shut."

After Jackie O chimed in once again to try to change the conversation to Segel's notable weight loss for the film, Diaz cut the talk short.

"We have to go now... sorry, they're wrapping us up," she said.

"Good one, Kyle," Jackie O said after the actors said their goodbyes. "You ruined that interview... you brought up Drew Barrymore, her best friend's drug addiction in the past... She's her best friend! And then you brought up Benji. We all know how protective Cameron is about her private life."

"Maybe, they should've just bought ads if they wanted to sell the movie," Sandilands responded.
