LOS ANGELES, July 10 (UPI) -- John Mayer wants Anthony Bourdain to host his hypothetical reality show.

The 36-year-old singer is known for his love of reality television, and reportedly would like to make a series of his own called My Funny Friend. A source recently revealed Mayer's idea to Us Weekly, and told the magazine the musician "thinks it has a great human-interest angle."

"His concept is: Everyone thinks they have a buddy who's so hysterical, he or she should be in comedy," the insider says. "So people nominate their friends, and they go through a series of evaluations to determine if they're actually funny or not."

"John says it's a show about 'dreams,'" the person continues. "He's telling people, 'Think how much joy there is in seeing a friend happy!'"

Mayer believes Anthony Bourdain would be the perfect host for the show. The 58-year-old chef and television personality currently hosts his own program, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, on CNN. He previously hosted Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations for nine seasons on the Travel channel.

My Funny Friend is only an idea for now.
