James Franco wrote a poem about Heath Ledger

The renaissance man has recently released a book of poetry called "Directing Herbert White."

LOS ANGELES, July 8 (UPI) -- Multi-hyphenate James Franco has published a book of poetry, Directing Herbert White, which references several of his famous colleagues, including River Phoenix and Lindsay Lohan.

But it's his bizarre poem about Heath Ledger that's getting the most attention.

The Telegraph, which gave Directing Herbert White only one star, said the poem, titled "Ledger," is one of several mentioning the late actor.

There had been a time

When we were up for the same roles,

10 Things I Hate about You

(Based on The Taming of the Shrew),

And The Patriot –

Funny, you were Australian and so was Mel –

You were the knight in A Knight's Tale...

Franco, who published a collection of short stories, Palo Alto, in 2010, often writes about celebrity culture. He recently wrote a story about his strange encounter with Lindsay Lohan at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
