LOS ANGELES, June 20 (UPI) -- Susan Sarandon took to Twitter Thursday to share a 23-year-old throwback picture of the "inventors of the selfie."

The image is a photo collage that features then-and-now pictures of herself and Geena Davis taking a selfie. The old photo is a still from the actresses in the 1991 film, Thelma & Louise and the other is a current pic.

Srandon and Davis co-starred in the '90s classic, which tells the story of an Arkansas waitress and a housewife who shoot a rapist and take off in a 1966 Thunderbird. The actresses reunited in February of this year during their appearance at Heifer International's 2nd Annual "Beyond Hunger: A Place At The Table" event in L.A.

British newspaper The Sun reported in February that Michelle Rodriguez and Cara Delevingne had agreed to star in an upcoming remake of Thelma & Louise.
