NEW YORK, June 19 (UPI) -- British singer Ed Sheeran discussed a few of the subjects he sings about in his upcoming album X during an interview with Parade magazine.

Sheeran has already previewed a few of the tracks on his second studio album, which is set for a June 23 release. While speaking about "Afire Love," the singer said it was about his late grandfather Bill.

"I finished writing it on the day of his funeral and played it for my whole family," said the 23-year-old. "Before it went any further, I needed to get the blessing of the people I care about."

As for "Don't," an already popular single about a lover's betrayal, Sheeran said it is "about someone who's well known, but not Taylor [Swift]." While the two have been romantically linked many times since they went on tour together -- Sheeran opened for Swift's Red Tour -- they both claim to be close friends.

In turn, rumor has it that the track might be about British singer Ellie Goulding.

Sheeran also addressed his life in the spotlight during the interview, telling Parade he knows "this isn't going to last forever.

"Now is the time when I'm making my musical statements and being cool and going to parties. But I don't think I'll be living this life in 10 years' time. If I am, please slap me," he said.

Instead, the singer expects to be "back home" with a "bunch of kids."

"At 33, I should be starting to settle down," he adds.

As for his current girlfriend, Sheeran wouldn't reveal any names, but did say she was a chef.
