Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, F. Murray Abraham, Stockard Channing and Megan Mullally will star alongside the actor. The piece is set at first-time producer Julia Budder's (Mullally) apartment as she, Finger, high-strung playwright Peter Austin (Broderick), and star Virginia Noyes (Channing) anxiously await the review of their first play. Theater critic Ira Drew (Abraham) and television star James Wicker (Lane) are also present.

"I'm thrilled to be making my Broadway debut alongside this amazing cast and creative team," Grint said in a statement.

It's Only a Play opens at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on October 9. Jack O'Brien will direct, with Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman and Ken Davenport as producers.

Grint is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies. He has gone on to star in Into the White and Charlie Countryman, and will appear in Moonwalkers with Ron Perlman. Fellow Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has also pursued projects on Broadway.
