'The Interview' trailer: Seth Rogen, James Franco try to assassinate Kim Jong Un

The frequent co-stars re-team for a high-stakes buddy comedy about an attempt to kill North Korea's "Dear Leader."

LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) -- James Franco and Seth Rogen are headed to the Hermit Kingdom.

Rogen and Franco, whose previous collaborations including Pineapple Express and a widely circulated "Bound 2" parody video, play a talk show host (Franco) and his producer (Rogen) in The Interview.

When they manage to snag a sit-down with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, CIA agent (Lizzy Caplan) asks them to assassinate him.

"You are entering into the most dangerous country on earth. Kim Jong-Un's people believe whatever he tells them, including that he speaks to dolphins and does not urinate or defecate," Caplan's character tells Rogen and Franco.

Rogen, who directed the film with Evan Goldberg, tweeted a propaganda-style poster promoting the movie on Wednesday.


"It's our attempt to make our version of a big political spy thriller, but starring me and Franco," Rogen told Indie Wire in May. "It's kind of the formula we always do which is we take a genre we like and add idiots to it."
