U.S. Olympian Charlie White engaged to Tanith Belbin

The Olympic gold medalist proposed to his longtime girlfriend while on vacation in Hawaii.

DETROIT, June 10 (UPI) -- U.S. Olympian Charlie White has such amazing chemistry with his ice dance partner, Meryl Davis, that fans often confuse them for a couple. But the 26-year-old has another leading lady -- off the ice.

White, who won a gold medal in ice dancing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, recently proposed to Tanith Belbin while on vacation in Hawaii.

"Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life! Hashtag she said yes!!!" White captioned a photo with his new fiancee.

White's engagement follows news that he and Davis would sit out the 2014-2015 figure skating season.
