ATLANTA, June 10 (UPI) -- A VH1 reality star has been arrested in Atlanta for failing to pay a million dollars worth of child support payments to the mother of his two teenagers.

Police said Stevie J, of Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, owes monthly payments of $8,500 dating back to 2001.

"The defendant [real name Steven Jordan], knowingly and willfully failed to pay a support obligation with respect to a child who resided in another state, such obligation having remained unpaid for a period longer than two years," Vincent Maldonado, of the Department of Health and Human Services, said in a statement.

Jordan fathered a boy and a girl with his former live-in girlfriend back in 1997 and 1998. They now live with their mother in Pennsylvania.

The 42-year-old defendant, a producer, has worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Notorious B.I.G and Jay Z.
