NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) -- Pop singer Jesse McCartney, 27, revealed in an interview with HuffPost Live that he was turned away from New York City bars after being carded on Monday.

The musician said he lost his wallet on his flight to New York before he tried to hit the town with some friends. He said he was turned away from several bars before he and his friends found places that "don't really care that much."

"I would be way too embarrassed to do something that silly," McCartney said on whether he'd pull up his Wikipedia page to prove his age.

McCartney's new album In Technicolor hits shelves July 22.
