The 35-year-old Extra host debuted The EveryGirl's Guide to Life in 2011, and has followed up with The EveryGirl's Guide to Diet and Fitness. The new work details her secrets to staying thin, and includes tips and recipes to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
"I've been there," she tells WGN Radio. "I lost 40 pounds, and I did it with no time, no money and no willpower."
The television personality once weighed 160 pounds, and was a size 14 after college. She now eats clean 75 percent of the time, leaving room for indulgence.
"The secret to keeping it off is taking it off the right way," she asserts. "When you deprive yourself, you're only going to bounce back. It's like an elastic band -- once you let go, you're only going to go right back to where you were."
"My plan is a really slow, you-got-to-be-patient kind of way to drop the weight," she reveals. "Make the slow changes now... Focus on health, not being skinny."
