Chris Kattan revives 'SNL' character for CFDA Awards

The "Saturday Night Live" alum walked the red carpet dressed as Mango, an irresistibly attractive male stripper.

NEW YORK, June 3 (UPI) -- Chris Kattan, in character as Saturday Night Live's Mango, mixed and mingled with fashion royalty the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in New York City on Monday night.

Kattan, 43, played Mango on SNL from 1997 to 2002. Mango was exotic dancer attractive to both men and women.

His reappearance was part of a promotional campaign for designer Alexander Wang. Here he is in a video for T by Alexander Wang, also starring model Behati Prinsloo.

"Ive always loved Mango's character from SNL, and to be able to work with [Kattan] was such an honor," Wang told Style.com. "Sometimes when fashion becomes too stiff, it's great to have someone such as Mango come through and inject a new burst of energy. Having fun and a sense of humor is so important to me that when I'm able to incorporate it into my work, I run with it."
