LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- Though Daredevil famously flopped on the big screen, Marvel is hoping that their blind comic-book hero will fare better on Netflix.

Charlie Cox, best known for his work in Boardwalk Empire and Stardust, will play the the lead in an upcoming 13-episode series for the streaming-video service, Variety reported Tuesday.

Daredevil is part of a deal between Marvel and Netflix, which will produce three more live-action comic-book adaptations -- Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.

The series, which starts production soon in New York City, will premiere on Netflix in 2015.
