MILAN, Italy, May 22 (UPI) -- Quvenzhané Wallis is the new face of Armani Junior.

The 10-year-old Beasts of the Southern Wild actress has been chosen to represent the luxury brand's clothing line for children and teens.

"Quvenzhané is so talented, despite her young age," Giorgio Armani says. "Her kindness, curiosity and openness towards others really struck me, as they are all traits I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior."

"With her insatiable energy, Quvenzhané made the clothing come alive," the designer continues. "Interpreting it in her own singular way."

The young star says she is "so happy to be chosen," and likens the feeling to the "same excitement" she gets when she is cast in a film.

"I was honored to wear [Armani's] custom gown to the Oscars," she gushes. "It made me feel like a princess... It's fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It's young. It's cool. My friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes."

Wallis most recently appeared in 2014 Academy Award Best Picture 12 Years a Slave. She will next star in Annie, set for release December 19.
