Beyonce steps out with new long hair in NYC

NEW YORK, May 22 (UPI) -- Beyonce has traded her loose and wavy hair for waist-long braids.

The singer, 32, showcased her new do as she stepped out in NYC Wednesday wearing black pants, a yellow and blue blouse and beige heels.

The makeover comes as Beyonce returned the the Big Apple from a family trip to New Orleans. The "Bow Down" singer shared several photos of her escapade, where she appears alongside her husband Jay Z, her sister Solange Knowles and her mother Tina Knowles, on her website Monday.

The family reunion took place a week after the Knowles-Carters made headlines over a leaked video of an elevator fight between Jay Z and Solange.

After the leak, the trio issued a public statement acknowledging their role in the altercation and claiming they had put the issue behind them.
