Gillian Jacobs gets recurring role on 'Girls'

The former "Community" star will be joining the fourth season of "Girls."

LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- Gillian Jacobs will be moving from the hallowed halls of Greendale to the hipster enclave of Brooklyn.

The 31-year-old Community star has signed on for a recurring role on the fourth season of Girls, set to air on HBO in 2015.

Dunham confirmed the news on Twitter Wednesday.

"It's true! The super-special @GillianJacobs has joined us for Girls season 4. We are pretty lucky," she tweeted.

According to TV Line, which first reported the story, Jacobs will play a recurring character named Mimi-Rose Howard. Her debut episode is titled "Mimi-Rose."

Jacobs is the first Community to land another series since the cult comedy was canceled earlier this month.
