LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- SyFy has ordered a third installment of its horror flick, Sharknado.

News of the third Sharknado film comes months before the the film's first sequel, Sharknado 2: The Second One, makes its debut on July 30.

The original Sharknado premiered on July 11, 2013 and told the story of a "freak hurricane [that] swamps Los Angeles," and "nature's deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace."

The film's stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will both appear in the sequel, which takes place in New York. There's still no word on whether the two will also star in the third installment of the Sharknado saga or where the flick will take place.
