Judge Judy gets primetime special on CBS

The famed TV judge will appear in a CBS special about her rise to daytime stardom.

NEW YORK, April 30 (UPI) -- Judge Judy Sheindlin will appear in a CBS special about her rise to daytime stardom.

The one-hour primetime special will investigate how Sheindlin, who started out in the New York City family court system, turned into television's highest-paid star.

Judge Judy Primetime will discuss the 71-year-old's unique turn of phrase, no-nonsense approach to legal disputes and "ability to act as true moral compass," according to a press release.

The special, set to air May 20, will also include excerpts from two 60 Minutes interviews interviews with Sheindlin from 1993 and 2003.
