Sharon Stone joins 'American Ultra' cast

Stone will be joining Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart in the Nima Nourizadeh-directed film.

LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- Sharon Stone has signed on to join the cast of the upcoming comedy flick, American Ultra.

The film stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart as Mike and Phoebe, a stoner and his girlfriend, whose "small-town existence is disrupted when his past comes back to haunt him in the form of a government operation set to wipe him out."

The 56-year-old actress will play a role originally intended for Uma Thurman, as the latter's deal never solidified.

Topher Grace, Tony Hale, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman and Walton Goggins will also costar in the movie.

The Nima Nourizadeh-directed film is expected in theaters sometime in 2015.
