Nick Carter weds longtime girlfriend Lauren Kitt

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., April 14 (UPI) -- Nick Carter married longtime girlfriend Lauren Kitt over the weekend.

The 34-year-old Backstreet Boys singer and 30-year-old fitness expert wed Saturday in Santa Barbara at the Bacara Resort and Spa. Carter's bandmate Howie Dorough was among the guests in attendance at the ceremony.

Carter and Kitt had gotten engaged in February 2013 during a vacation to the Florida Keys. The couple refer to the locale as "Engagement Island."

"We both are just so happy in love right now and on cloud nine," Kitt said in an interview with People.
