The character Electro, born Maxwell Dillon, gains the power to control electricity in the Spider-Man comics after he is struck by lightning. The upcoming film changes the accident to one that involves electric eels. Electro initially struggles with the change before he decides to use his powers for evil.

The Amazing Spider Man 2 will debut in theaters on May 2.
