AUCKLAND, New Zealand, April 11 (UPI) -- Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has emerged the victor of two yacht races against husband Prince William.

The royals took to the high seas on Friday for some friendly competition off the coast of Auckland, New Zealand. The two took the helms of separate America's Cup yachts, and Middleton steered her boat to victory twice under the guidance of yachtsman Dean Barker.

The couple touched down in New Zealand on Monday to embark on a three-week, 45-engagement tour of the country and Australia. The pair have already met with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and several Maori tribesmen, visited an aviation museum with director Peter Jackson, and attended a ceremony to unveil a new Queen Elizabeth portrait.
