LOS ANGELES, April 11 (UPI) -- 24: Live Another Day has released a theatrical-style trailer ahead of its television premiere in May.

The original 24 program first aired in 2001, and ran for eight seasons plus a television movie, Redemption. The series follows counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he navigates his dangerous profession and tumultuous personal life. Each season takes place over the course of a single day, with 24 episodes each covering one hour of that day.

The new television revival will be set 4 years after season 8, and is a limited series. The show opens with Bauer on the run in London, aided by his friend and former colleague, Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Bauer must work to thwart a terrorist attack even as the law hunts him down as a criminal.

24: Live Another Day will debut May 5 on FOX.
