PITTSBURGH, April 7 (UPI) -- Stand-up comedian and actor John Pinette was found dead in his Pittsburgh hotel room Saturday of natural causes.

Pinette's manager, Larry Shapiro, said the actor had died from a pulmonary embolism. Pinette had been treated for heart and liver disease. He also entered treatment for a prescription pill addiction last year.

Pinette had comedic roles on film and television and was best known for his role in the finale of Seinfeld, in which he played a man whose car was stolen by Kramer, George, Jerry and Elaine.

At the time of his death, Pinette was on a cross-country comedy tour until June.
