Justin Bieber mimicked the original "Rebel Without a Cause" on Saturday, posing for an Instagram pic inspired by Hollywood icon James Dean.

"This is James Dean inspired," Bieber captioned the image, but warned fans not to read too much into his props. "Don't ask me if I smoke ciggys cuz I don't."

Here's the original, a screenshot from the 1955 film, Rebel Without a Cause:

It's not the first time Bieber, who's reportedly working on his relationship with on-again, off-again flame Selena Gomez, has taken style cues from the late actor.

"[Bieber] is growing into an adult, so we decided that his style should reflect that," his hairstylist told Us Weekly in 2012. "So we looked to the legendary James Dean for our inspiration."
