Fox News host Erin Andrews returned to Dancing with the Stars on Monday night to make her debut as the series' new host.

Andrews had previously competed on season ten of the show, and was tapped to replace Brooke Burke-Charvet as Tom Bergeron's co-host for the show's eighteenth season.

Andrews' former dancing partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, also returned to the show after a two-season hiatus. The two kept things lively on Monday with their bickering and back-and-forth banter.

"I stuck it to Maks all season long when we were dancing," Andrews tells E! News. "He loves it deep down. He's a big boy, he can handle it!"

"I just wanted her to have an easy first show," Chmerkovskiy says of the banter. "She's going to have to take it because there's a lot of dishing out. I'm obviously not someone to shy away from something and [myself and partner Meryl Davis have] nine more weeks, hopefully!"

Critics thought Andrews did well at her new job as host, but DWTS fans weren't as enthused. Many people took to Twitter to express their disapproval.
