Candace Cameron Bure says she plans to wear modest costumes on Dancing with the Stars in order to be a good role model.

The 37-year-old actress is best known for her role as D.J. Tanner on Full House. Bure has been married to hockey player Valeri Bure since 1996, and the two have three children together. The star became a Christian when she was a young teenager, and remains strongly devoted to her faith.

"The two most important things in my life are my faith and my family. I know that is what is going to get me through this competition," Bure said in a clip before her DWTS debut. "I'm not gonna be your sexy girl, I'm a mom of three kids so I want to look good and feel beautiful, but I will probably stay on the more modest end of costuming."

The star reiterated her commitment to modesty after Monday night's show in an interview with Us Weekly. Bure said her attire will be a "happy medium" between sexy and modest, but that she "won't be the sexiest one out there."

"I am a mom and want to be a good role model for my children and my husband," the actress expressed. "I think for each dance we'll wear what reflects the dance but in the most classy way possible."

"I want to represent all the moms out there and inspire them and encourage them," she said of her DWTS appearance. "I'm just a woman, I'm not any different... my priority is my family...and so this for me is truly a joy. It's something I've never done and to get the opportunity to do this is fantastic."

Bure and her dancing partner Mark Ballas came in second place on Monday night's show.

"I was really proud of her!" Ballas added to Us Weekly.

Season eighteen of Dancing with the Stars airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC.
